What is the difference between Application and Registration?

Application
What it is: The process of expressing interest in attending a college by providing personal and academic details for review.
Purpose: To be considered for admission.
Steps involved:
- Filling out an application form (online or offline).
- Submitting required documents (e.g., transcripts, test scores, letters of recommendation).
- Paying the application fee.Outcome: You will receive an admission decision (accepted, waitlisted, or denied).

Registration
What it is: The process that follows admission; it officially enrolls you in classes and confirms your place at the college.
Purpose: To secure your spot and begin your academic journey.
Steps involved:
- Paying tuition or enrollment fees.
- Selecting and registering for specific courses.
- Completing administrative tasks (e.g., student ID, class card, timetable).

Outcome: You are officially a student at the college and may attend classes.

Key Difference
Application happens before admission and determines if you qualify.
Registration happens after admission and confirms your enrollment.

What are the requirements for joining Visualdo?

The following are the requirements for joining visualdo.

Fill and Submit Application Form.
Pay Non-refundable Application Fees of Ksh 2000.
Attach two Passport size photos.
Copy of National ID(or waitlist) or Passport.
High School Result Slip: D- for certificate and C- for diploma. No grade is required for enrollment into short courses.
1 Lever Arch A4 PVC Box File (Any Color)
Receive admission letter from us stating you have been accepted to study at Visualdo Institute.
Pay school fees before start of class. (Max 3 installments accepted).

How can I meet with my instructors or get academic support on campus?

You can meet with your instructors during their office hours or schedule appointments. Academic support services, such as tutoring and study groups, are available on campus. You can find contact information for instructors and academic support staff on the bulletin boards or by asking at the front desk.

Is there an opportunity for students to participate in internships or job placement programs?

Yes, our school provides opportunities for students to participate in internships and job placement programs. You can inquire about these opportunities by visiting front desk and you will be assisted

What technology do I need

A laptop is usually essential for college work.
- Laptop (Core i5+, 12gb RAM, 250GB SSD, 2GB Graphics).

What is the difference between basic units, common units and core units?

Core units subjects are mandatory for your certificate and diploma. They are the course you are taking.

Common units are subject that are shared among different departments.

Basic units are general subjects developed to help students get knowledge and skills other than their core subjects. Basic unit subjects includes: Entrepreneurship Skills, Communication Skills, Digital Skills.

Where can I get academic support or tutoring?

We offer free tutoring services through our student academic support center. You can also ask professors about office hours for extra help or form study groups with classmates.

How do I drop or add a class?

You can drop or add a class by coming to the main office and request to be dropped or added. Be aware of the add/drop deadlines for each semester, as late changes could affect your transcript or tuition.

What should I do if I’m struggling with a class?

First, reach out to your professor or the admin during office hours to discuss any difficulties. You can also visit the academic advisors for support. Consider forming study groups with classmates or using online resources to reinforce your understanding.

Where can I go if I need guidance and counseling support?

You can schedule an appointment with our support team. Please visit the front desk and you will be helped.

What should I do if I feel homesick?

Homesickness is common, especially at the start of college. Stay connected with family and friends, but also make an effort to meet new people and get involved on campus. Seek support from counseling services if needed.
